Dry Stone Feature steps

Writer: Edwin LuggEdwin Lugg

Design and build dry stone steps with planters.

The design was offered to blend in with the surrounding landscape and to create a smooth transition form one outdoor space to another.

The new steps offer deep treads, wider and two planting areas square to mimic the house in the background.

All of the stone was reclaimed and used in a different way to suit the new design. The feature steps are formed of sandstone, slate flagging and coping acting as a cover band. To allow for additional potted plants or seating and finished with two dry stone cheek-ends.

Created in collaboration with Carl of Landmark Walling and Billy of Drystane Dyking Services.
